Roommates by compatibility, not by who scrolled past first.

Roomit AI was built by people who've moved 12 times between them. We were tired of choosing flatmates from grainy photos and one-line bios, finding out three weeks in that schedules clash, cleanliness doesn't, and "chill" meant very different things.

A bright, open living room — the kind of space a roommate match should feel like.

01

Why this exists

Sharing a home is one of the highest-frequency interactions in modern life and one of the lowest-information decisions you'll make. Most platforms optimise for rent price and a photo carousel. Neither predicts whether you'll actually like living together.

Roomit ranks matches by lifestyle factors — schedule, cleanliness, noise tolerance, social style, pets, dietary preferences, and a dozen others — gathered through a guided onboarding. The score is a guide, not a guarantee, but it gets you to the right shortlist in minutes instead of weeks.

What we believe

  • Lifestyle fit beats vibes. Photos are a screen, not a signal.
  • Private by default. Your phone number, exact location, and ID images stay off the wire.
  • Verification is optional, not a paywall. If you opt in, we keep the result and discard the document.
  • Free core, optional plus. Matching and messaging are free. Roomit+ is for users who want priority and reach.
  • Both sides of the match matter. Hosts and renters use the same compatibility model — no "premium tier for landlords."

Where we are

Roomit AI, Inc. is a US company. The app is launching in select North American cities first, with more rolling out through 2026. The website is currently available in English, Spanish, French, Portuguese, and German.

A lived-in living room — the version of home worth getting right.

04

Who built it

A small founding team with a long renting CV between us — across student housing, expat moves, post-divorce reshuffles, and "my flatmate's leaving in three weeks" emergencies. We're not a Tinder for rooms, and we're not a listings board. We're an attempt at a saner first filter.
