Getting started

How do I create an account?

Download Roomit from the App Store or Google Play, open the app, and tap Get started. We'll guide you through email or phone verification, a short lifestyle onboarding, and your first matches in about three minutes.

Why does Roomit ask so many questions during onboarding?

The questions feed our compatibility model. The more honest detail you share — sleep schedule, cleanliness, social style, deal-breakers — the more accurate your match scores will be.

Can I edit my profile later?

Yes. Open Settings → Profile at any time to update photos, bio, lifestyle answers, or deal-breakers. Changes take effect immediately.

I'm not getting good matches. What can I do?

Try expanding your location radius, adding a few more photos, and revisiting your deal-breakers to make sure they aren't overly restrictive. The AI assistant in the app can also walk you through profile improvements.

Roomit+ & billing

What does Roomit+ include?

Roomit+ unlocks 10× daily likes, see-who-liked-you, 30-minute early access to new listings, priority placement in search, and an AI assistant with extended context memory.

How do I cancel?

Subscriptions are managed by Apple's App Store or Google Play. On iPhone open Settings → [your name] → Subscriptions. On Android open the Play Store, tap your avatar, then Payments & subscriptions → Subscriptions.

Do you offer refunds?

Refunds are handled by Apple and Google. For App Store purchases, request a refund at reportaproblem.apple.com. For Google Play, see Google's refund policy. We can help you make the case if needed — email [email protected].

I bought a one-time booster but didn't see the effect.

Boosters can take up to 30 seconds to activate. If you still don't see it, force-close the app and reopen. If the issue persists, email [email protected] with your purchase receipt.

Safety & trust

How does identity verification work?

Verification is optional. If you opt in, we ask for a selfie and a photo of a government-issued ID. We confirm they match using an automated check, then delete the document image — only a verified status flag remains on your profile.

How do I block or report someone?

Open the person's profile, tap the menu, and choose Block or Report. Blocking removes them from your matches and messages immediately. Reports are reviewed by our trust team within 24 hours.

Is my location visible to other users?

Only your city or neighborhood is visible — never your exact address or GPS coordinates. You can adjust the granularity in Settings → Privacy.

Meeting in person — what should I know?

Always meet first in a public place, share your plans with a friend, and trust your instincts. If something feels off during a tour or meeting, leave and report the user from the app. Your safety comes before any match.
